“As far as diving goes, I’m just going to keep doing it for as long as I’m enjoying it. Four years is a really, really long time. There are other things going on in my life too. I’ve re-enrolled in uni and I’m looking for jobs and stuff … growing up.”

"Did you get (or getting) your book signed by Matt?" :O So jealous! I wish I lived in Australia so I could go to a book signing. It’s gonna cost a pretty penny to have it shipped overseas. Worth it though! Has anybody else gotten Twists and Turns yet?

The Austrlian: Matthew Mitcham lowers platform to take up springboard

“I was ready to give up the sport because of all the injuries I had had. But it’s hard to get past the excitement of the Olympic Games. It reminded me what I do it for, why I put myself through that ridiculous amount of pain and hard work. It makes it all worth it.”

“I only took two weeks off after the Olympics and I’ve got my springboard list together really quickly,”

“I want to be the best in the world - once you taste that success, it’s hard to lower your standards,”

“With the platform, you have to generate the rotation yourself so it puts a lot of stress on your body, particularly your core, but the springboard does most of the work for you,”

“I have not had a single niggle since the Olympics.”

“Ian Thorpe called me after my stuff came out and he said I was doing the right thing (by revealing his mental demons).”
